Dogs West

Dogs West is the ‘Canine Association of WA’ - a membership organisation in representing accredited breeders, clubs and trainers of pure-bred pedigree dogs in Western Australia. The Association is one state affiliate under the Australian National Kennel Council, so there are similar organisations operating in all other states of Australia. This logo brief is for Dogs West only, not the other states. I am the marketing consultant looking after the rebrand for Dogs West.

    Instructions
We would love: * A new logo that is fresh, clean, modern and with strong visual impact (current old logo provided). * Flexibility in the logo, to be able to use it with or without the byline – ‘Canine Association of WA’. I would like the logo to be able to stand alone, as ‘Dogs West’, for simple applications and then with the byline ‘Canine Association of WA’ where space permits and the application suits. * A logo that is unique and NOT similar to brands of Dogs West's sister-Associations in other Australian states (I have provided a sample of the logos of other Associations in the attachment - WE DO NOT LIKE ANY OF THESE and want something completely different). * Though not essential, we are open to the logo possibly having a stylised version of a dog or parts of a dog, without it specifically showing any particular breed of dog. Because Dogs West represents all breeds, any dog graphic element has to be generic/abstract, not specific to a certain breed. PLEASE NOTE - HAVING THIS ELEMENT IS NOT ESSENTIAL. * Attractive colour / colour combination choice. We do not have any particular colour preference/s at this stage. * A logo that is visually adaptable and practical for all uses, sizes and applications: - Suitable and easily legible in large or small-scale sizes. - Suitable for use on a range of applications - printed materials, online use, fabrics, signage etc. - Able to be used in landscape and portrait formats. - Full-colour and mono/single-colour versions. - Versions for light and dark backgrounds – must have a reversed or inverted option of the logo that works on dark backgrounds if needed.

Thanks to all designers for your designs so far! I would prefer if a dog graphic element is used (which, by the way, is not essential) that it is more abstract and generic .. more of a stylised dog, without it specifically showing any particular breed of dog. Because Dogs West represents all breeds, any dog graphic element has to be generic/abstract, not specific to a certain breed. We would also like to see a strong impact with the font choice, perhaps something more modern. Thanks in advance!

Just to clarify .. it is NOT essential to use a dog graphic element in the logo. We are open to all options! Something clean and impacting is the most important factor. Thanks!

Thanks to all the finalist designers for your amazing work. My client is taking longer than expected to make their decision on the winning logo. I am chasing them up on it and will advise their choice as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience! Regards, Julie
