The healing powers, longevity of life and the nourishing qualities of the olive tree, its fruit, its leaves have been admired and revered throughout history.  They have been used as symbols of Abundance, Glory, Peace, Wisdom and Power.  In the context of our business and the services that we provide we share such attributes as we provide “A wealth of expert knowledge of IT Solutions.  Giving our clients peace of mind.” 
 
The olive tree is naturally resistant to drought, disease and fire.  It lives for a very long time, some still said to be alive at 3,000 to 4,000 years old.  Our business shares the tough attributes as we can say that we “Provide service reliability, resiliency, survivability and stability.”   
 
Additionally, olive oil was the fuel used in sacred torches that carried the “Eternal Flame” of the original Olympic Games. 
 
A wreath created from its branches was the prized possession for champions of games and victors of battles.  The laurel wreath, worn as a ‘corona’ or crown by Roman gods and emperors alike, signifies Excellence, Victory , Power, among other things. 
 
It is easy enough to conjure up a golden laurel wreath, radiating with light, like something you might see on a champion’s medallion or something, but that’s not what we want.  We also don’t think the straight up interpretation of an olive, like you might see skewered on a toothpick sticking out of a martini glass, does the trick.  Too elementary. 
 
What we are playing with is the phonetics that the word “olive” provides.  “Olive IT”, if you weren’t reading “IT” as two independent letters, but as a word, “it”, could instead read as if you were saying “all of it”.  So we are basically saying, “We are Olive IT.  We can handle all of it.” 
 
So, what do you think?  What can you come up with?  We want something iconic and recognizable.  Nothing two clip-arty or campy, but also nothing too “official” or “shield” or “crest”-like.
