I'm also a birth and postpartum doula: I support pregnant women and their families before, during and after birth. I educate pregnant people and their partners on the choices and the best evidence based practices for birth. In the post partum stage, I provide both support and education for parents once they bring their baby home, so that they can transition confidently into being a family unit without feeling as overwhelmed.

I am not a flowery, crunchy massage therapist. I have a BA in biology, and plan to go back to school for nursing. While I do want to focus more on my birth and doula clients, I do not want to alienate my massage clients, who vary in age, and activity type (as in, I have a lot of athletic clients, as well as elderly clients). I don't mind a little bit of a relaxation look, but I'd like to minimize the frou-frou vibe. I'd like to integrate the oxytocin molecule, as it reflects my science approach. It's also symbolic because it'sreleased during both birth and massage.
