We’re making a bioreactor!  Bioreactors are used by scientists to grow microorganisms for a variety of scientific purposes.  For example, the bugs could be tasked with producing a valuable biological component.  Or they might help the scientist answer a basic question about how life works. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Our bioreactor consists of a cube-shaped casing where all the electronics are kept, connected to a culture flask where the microorganisms are going to live.  The casing needs a beautiful, professional and confidence-inspiring front panel.  You’ll have a square area of 20 x 20 cm to work with.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There are two hardware features on the front panel that you need to work around, or actively emphasize with your design.  First, there is a cut-out for a touch screen (12 wide, 8 cm tall, landscape format).  It should be placed near the top right part of the panel, and must be at least 2 cm away from any border.  Second, there are M3 mounting screws centered 1x1 cm away from each corner. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We need a prominent display of the name of our bioreactor, which is SparkleCell. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt; Less prominently, our company name and logo should be somewhere there too.  The existing company logo is attached.  The name is Gene And Cell Technologies.  MS Calibri works well for the font.  It could be all caps in block, or alternatively each word starts with a capital.  (Because GACT are the four letters that make our DNA!)  The company logo &amp; name can be reticent, faint, or small -- keep the focus on SparkleCell.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We chose the name SparkleCell to create associations with “Sparkling”, as in a new, clean, shiny machine.  “Sparkling” as in healthy, happy cell cultures.  And finally as in “Sparkling Wine”, because the cultures are aerated with bubbles reminiscent of such beverage, a symbol of celebrating success.  (However, we should probably stay away from depicting the alcoholic beverage association too overtly).  So, these are the concepts we would like you to capture in the front panel design.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The housing is going to be made of aluminum.  Optionally, you may refer to specific aluminum manufacturing and finishing techniques, if you know about them.  We can use techniques such as polishing, anodizing, powder coating, silk screening, laser engraving, and digital printing.  These techniques can bring out effects that can’t be conveyed on a computer screen, such as metallics, gloss, matte, shine, and - you guessed it - sparkling textures.  But you don’t need to know about metal manufacturing to participate in this contest.  We care more about shapes than about the precise final finishing method.  Just keep in mind that we will in the end have to change some of the colors to make it manufacturable, and in doing so add some sparkle to your drawing. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;SparkleCell will be used by scientists at some of the world’s most renowned academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies.  We need a professional appearance consistent with such environment.  SparkleCell is not meant to be colorful, in-your-face, like a consumer product might be.  Think iPhone, not hello-kitty phone.  We would like you to work within the bounds of professional instrument design, but use a reticent touch of Sparkle as the exquisite refinement.   We have found some products that do this well.  For example take a look at Prismatic Powders’ “Pearl Sparkle” coating.  And search their site for “Sparkle” to reveal some other very interesting effects.  But again, we understand that you work on a computer screen -- you can participate and win by ignoring manufacturing methods completely.  We&#39;re interested in shapes and basic colors, and can choose the best way to translate your drawing into physical reality on our own.  &lt;br&gt;
