The Long Trail is the oldest long distance hiking trail in the U.S. running the length of the state of Vermont (green mountain state).  For us, the name signifies a positive journey for the dog from the time it is saved from neglect/abandonment to our rescue program and continues on for the remainder of the life of the dog with its forever family.  I envision a logo with a rustic or distressed look (it could be as simple as the example below with a cool looking dog), or a mountain, trail, old wooden trail sign with our name and some illustration on it, all come to mind, with a dog somehow incorporated, but not all of these items would need to be included in one design.  No cartoonish looking dogs or paw prints though.  We are thinking we want a tag line but haven&#39;t made a decision on one yet (some ideas: uniting dogs with forever families, dogs are worth saving, or every dog deserves its day).

The whole process of throwing the idea for a logo out there for designers to work on was an exciting experience from start to finish.  arcdesign was wonderful to work with and always responded quickly to our suggestions for revisions.  We can&#39;t wait to see our logo design on our website, t-shirts, bumper stickers, business cards, etc.  It was a great experience and we ended up with an excellent design.
