- Cura Know
- Company Intro:
- CURA-KNOW (Island of Knowledge) is a European Researchers' Night and Researchers-at-Schools programme funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (HORIZON-MSCA-2025-CITIZENS-01) for 2026–2027. The project aims to bridge the gap between research and the broader Curaçao community, families, pupils, students, and teachers—by engaging participants to discover scientific inquiry through a fresh perspective. Project Motto: "Discover your island through a new lens." Core Brand Pillars: • Community Engagement: Inclusive, accessible science for all demographics • Island Identity: Rooted in Curaçao's unique culture, geography, and biodiversity • Discovery & Perspective: Reimagining how communities interact with scientific knowledge • Collaboration & Innovation: Bridging research institutions with everyday life Target Audience: Families, school pupils, students (secondary–higher education), teachers, and community leaders in Curaçao. Design should appeal to diverse age groups and speak to local relevance while maintaining professional credibility with research stakeholders. Related Campaign: The project uses a broader campaign concept, "Watch Your World Through the Lens of Science," emphasizing perspective shift and discovery. The logo should reinforce this visual metaphor of observation and insight.
- Instructions:
- Conceptual Direction The logo should embody the journey of discovery and the "new lens" metaphor while anchoring to Curaçao's island identity. Design should balance: • Scientific credibility and approachability (not overly playful or academic) • Local cultural resonance (island, nature, light, perspective) • Versatility across digital and print platforms • Scalability from small (favicon) to large (event banners) Visual Concept Ideas (Reference) Suggested elements to explore: • Lens or iris motif: A stylized lens, magnifying glass, or eye representing the "new lens" perspective • Island silhouette: A subtle island shape or coastline woven into or behind the primary icon • Light & knowledge: Radiant elements (light rays, stars, or nodes) suggesting illumination and discovery • Circular geometry: Rings or concentric circles echoing both scientific and island symbolism • Abstract & modern: Avoid literal or clichéd imagery; aim for memorable, distinctive iconography Technical Requirements • Standalone icon: A primary mark that functions as a symbol without text (minimum 1 inch at 72 DPI) • Lockup/wordmark: Logo + "CURA-KNOW" text (horizontal and stacked layouts)
