2014 Review with 48hourslogo Design Contest

We’re taking a look back with a 2014 logo design review of 48hourslogo. What big events and big logos were we a part of last year? Let’s take a look…

This past year has been a full of growth and opportunity for 48hourslogo.com. If you are a business that has opened a contest with us, or competed in them as designer, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our passion is for making entrepreneurs and small businesses look good, delivering high quality graphic design to them at an affordable price. We’re here because of you. When you do well, we do well. So thank you!

If you’ll join me, I would like to take the time to reflect on some of the more eventful occasions we’ve all been a part of this past year.

This year we reached a milestone. 48hourslogo.com has helped over 15,000 businesses get logos, stationary, website design, and more. Specifically, we have had over 15,000 contests finish out by the end of this year. It’s humbling to realize we’ve been a part of that many people’s dreams and livelihood. But I believe it goes to show that we have a good thing going here.

Not to be outdone in the numbers game, our Design Community has submitted over one million individual designs to contests on our site! Averaging those numbers out we get 66.6 submissions per contests, but that doesn’t take into account contest prize amount. Our larger contests naturally see more entries than our most basic contests. I believe we even saw a particular contest reach 1,000 entries just last month!

Also worth noting, we’ve had more reviews submitted this year, and maintained an impressive 4.9/5.0 stars! You can read feed back from real business owners about their experience with designers and our site on our Testimonials page.

New Top Designer

Since I started working through 48hourslogo in 2012, we’ve had one person as the Top Ranked Designer, and that would be the hard-working jaize. That changed this past summer. For the first time in years, he dropped down one spot to number two. Who ascended to Top Designer? Ingepro! Since Top Designer rankings are updated on a daily basis, those two have fluctuated back and forth a bit. Jaize and ingepro have battled it out for top spot a few different times this year.

Designer Interviews

We were able to increase the amount of interviews with individual designers in 2014. You can find them throughout previous blog posts. I would like to thank everyone who participated. Thank you for your time and allowing us to peer into your lives a little bit. It’s truly a pleasure to get to know you more. Between the number of new contests this year and the increased membership in our Design Community, 48hourslogo has produced some many amazing logo designs this year. I’ve picked a few out that I think you’ll enjoy. Logos that have made a particular splash within our community and on social media. I didn’t want to do this as a “Top Logos” list, since art can be subjective, and there’s honestly too many to wade through. But I do want to mention these as jobs well done.

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking through the past year with me. It makes me optimistic and excited to see what kind of work our Design Community comes up with in 2015!
