What we do
Traysee is an AI computer-vision appliance that checks hospital trays before they reach a patient.

A camera unit sits above the line. As each tray passes, Traysee photographs it, identifies every item on it, and compares that against what is supposed to be there — returning a pass/fail verdict in under three seconds, with no one having to stop and inspect anything by hand.

It does this for two kinds of tray:

Dining trays — checked against the patient's prescribed diet order, catching allergens, texture and restriction errors before the meal leaves the kitchen. Roughly one in eight hospital meal trays goes out with an error today, and a meaningful share of those carry real allergy or choking risk.
Surgical instrument trays — confirming a tray is complete and correct before a procedure begins, so the case doesn't stop mid-operation while someone hunts for a missing instrument. Operating-room time runs well over $100 a minute.

The unit is deliberately plug-and-play — it installs like an appliance, not like an IT project. It is deployed in real hospitals today and is built and operated to HIPAA standards.
Who it's for
Two audiences, and the logo has to survive both:

Hospital executives and health-system buyers — CIOs, food-service directors, perioperative leadership, and national food-service contractors. They need to see a serious, credible, clinical-grade technology vendor. This logo will appear in procurement documents, security reviews, and next to hospital brands.
The people who actually use it — kitchen staff plating trays at 5:45 in the morning, and sterile-processing techs assembling instrument sets. They need it to feel approachable, clear, and non-threatening. It cannot look like surveillance equipment or like another piece of hospital IT that makes their job harder.
Brand attributes
Accurate · watchful · calm · fast · trustworthy · quietly modern · human

Not: cold, clinical-sterile, corporate-generic, aggressive, cutesy-to-the-point-of-unserious, surveillance-y.
Colors
Traysee is its own brand — do not feel bound to our parent company Blue Sky Robotics' cyan-and-lime palette. We want to see genuinely different color directions. Show us what you think is right.

Some things worth knowing as you choose:

The mark will sit on stainless steel, white laminate, and dark screen UI. It must hold up on all three.
It will also be silkscreened in a single color on the hardware housing. A one-color version has to work.
Colors that read as "spoiled food," "biohazard," or "alarm state" are a problem in this context — be thoughtful with reds, yellow-greens and oranges. Red in particular is what our own product UI uses to mean this tray is wrong.
Must-haves
Works in one color (solid black and solid white, no gradients) as well as full color.
Legible at 24 × 24 px as a favicon and app icon, and at 40 feet on a trade-show banner.
Provide a standalone icon/mark that works without the wordmark, plus horizontal and stacked lockups.
Works on light and dark backgrounds.
Vector, clean geometry, no photographic or heavily textured elements.
Please DON'T
The single most important instruction in this brief: avoid food-only imagery. Because Traysee verifies surgical instrument trays as well as meal trays, anything built on a fork, knife, spoon, plate, cloche/dome, or chef's hat will box the brand into food service and will not survive our next product line. This is where most entries will go by default. Please don't.

Also avoid:

Scalpels, syringes, red crosses, caduceus/rod-of-Asclepius, hearts, or heartbeat/ECG lines. Generic "healthcare logo" signals.
Robot arms, humanoid robots, or anything that reads as a factory. Traysee has no moving parts and touches nothing.
A literal human eyeball, especially a realistic or staring one. The "see" idea is welcome; a watching eye is not.
Anything that reads as surveillance, security-camera, or facial recognition. We photograph trays, not people, and this is a real sensitivity in our market.
Circuit-board traces, binary digits, brain-with-circuits, and the standard "AI" clichés.
Swooshes, generic abstract globes, and stock-looking gradient blobs.


2. Style directions we'd like to see
We want variety in the first round. Please don't send five versions of the same idea. The list below runs from the most reduced to the most playful — we'd genuinely like entries across the whole range, and we will judge each one against its own direction, not against the others. If you only pursue one, tell us which.
Direction A — Reduced geometric mark
The most stripped-back option. One idea, executed cleanly, nothing decorative.

Starting points: a tray reduced to a rounded rectangle or a simple tapered trapezoid seen from above or in slight perspective; a checkmark that is also the tray's edge; a square frame with one corner resolved into a tick. Think of the reduction level of a well-drawn transit symbol or a modern software company mark — a shape someone could redraw from memory after seeing it once.

Where it sits: quiet, confident, ages well, works everywhere. Risk is blandness — make sure there's one idea in it, not just a nice shape.
Direction B — The "see" idea
Traysee is a pun, and the mark can carry it without being literal.

Starting points: a camera aperture whose blades form a tray outline or a checkmark; a lens/viewfinder framing a tray; scan brackets or corner crop-marks enclosing a tray shape — the visual language of a system locking onto a target; the double "ee" in Traysee drawn as two lenses, which is also literally true (the unit uses two cameras, one overhead and one at 45°).

Where it sits: this is the smartest direction conceptually and probably where our favourite will come from. Keep it abstract — a geometric aperture, not an eyeball.
Direction C — Professional / enterprise medtech
The version we'd put in front of a hospital procurement committee or a Fortune-500 food-service contractor without a second thought.

Starting points: precise, engineered geometry on a visible grid; confident weight; a restrained deep blue, slate, or teal; a strong custom logotype doing most of the work with a compact mark alongside. The register to aim for is serious diagnostic-equipment and clinical-software branding — the kind of mark that looks like it has been in use for fifteen years and has passed an audit.

Where it sits: our safest commercial direction. Make it precise rather than corporate-generic — precision is the product.
Direction D — Monogram / lettermark
Let the letterforms do the work.

Starting points: the T built as a tray in perspective, or as a tray on a stand; the T whose crossbar is a scan line; a T that resolves into a checkmark; the ee as two apertures (see Direction B); a custom logotype where a single letter is quietly modified and the rest is left alone.

Where it sits: scales beautifully, brilliant as an app icon and on hardware. Please still supply a full wordmark lockup.
Direction E — Warm, approachable, human
Not cartoon, but not corporate either. Rounded, friendly, optimistic — for the kitchen staff and techs who look at this every shift.

Starting points: soft geometric shapes with generous corner radii; a rounded, humanist sans; a warmer palette than a medical device would normally use; a mark that suggests this thing is on your side and just caught a mistake for you rather than this thing is auditing you.

Where it sits: this is how the product should feel on the kitchen wall. The test: would a nurse manager smile at it at 6am, and would a CIO still take it seriously in a slide deck?
Direction F — Cartoon / character
Full playfulness. A mascot or character mark we could use on the hardware, on training material, and in the app.

Starting points: a tray character — a friendly rounded tray with simple dot eyes, a small "all good" expression; a scanner character peering down over a tray; a character built from the camera unit itself. Simple, bold, few colors, no fine detail, in the register of a good modern app mascot rather than a 1990s clip-art cartoon.

Where it sits: the wildcard, and we want to see it. Two constraints: it must reduce to a clean single-color icon, and it must not look childish next to a hospital's logo. If you can make a character that a health system would still sign a contract under, that's the winning entry in this direction.
Also welcome — wordmark only
A logotype with no separate icon at all, where the letterforms carry everything. If you have a strong custom-type idea for Traysee, send it. We'd rather have one excellent piece of lettering than a mediocre icon bolted onto a stock font.


3. Where this logo has to live
Worth knowing while you design — this mark has an unusually wide range of surfaces:
