logo should look good on letterhead and business card and website (i.e. easily printable)... 
 
flashy bright colors (red/yellow) pls avoid. 
sober but impacting colors, like navy blue, dull gold/bronze, silver/gray, maroon are preferable. contrasting with above colors is preferable. For Website and Business cards i prefer darker background (not black!) and lighter logo. but reverse for letterheads / envelopes. so preferably logo should work both ways in reverse colors. (sorry for sounding so complex)

I prefer straight bold letters. Italicised is okay (like Platinum Conceirge example) but not highly italicised fonts (cursive handwriting type) as in my view it should be readable and convey seriousness and not be too artsy.
