- Contest Summary: Whānau Cabins Logo Design Whānau Cabins is a proud Māori, whānau-based business from Ngāti Maru, helping whānau across Aotearoa access affordable housing. We design and build quality cabins to sell and rent — creating warm, welcoming Kāinga (home) environments where whānau can thrive. Our guiding belief: “It’s not the size of the whare, it’s the aroha within.” We’re looking for a logo that embodies whānau, aroha, and connection to whenua. The main inspiration should come from our local marae, Te Upoko o Te Whenua, whose wharenui shape and patterns reflect our identity, culture, and strength. Designers are encouraged to use the wharenui silhouette as the central form of the logo — stylised, simple, and meaningful — not an exact replica. The final design should feel modern yet grounded in te ao Māori, with clean lines, balance, and a warm sense of belonging. It needs to look great in black and white as well as colour, and be versatile for use on signage, vehicles, and business cards. Business card designs featuring the new logo are welcome as part of your submission. To learn more about the Marae and wharenui. https://maorimaps.com/marae/te-upoko-o-te-whenua-tarata
