I would like to incorporate the Chinese character "丁" (a "T" with a hook at the bottom) as the main symbol, but have it work for a mainstream American company.
One concept is the Beijing Olympics logo (but not as cartoony) http://ninsox.com/files/2008/06/logo2008.jpg
Also want a theme of taking fun, messy randomness and putting it into legit order, maybe going from pixelated to clear or out of focus to focused.
Taking Web 2.0 (like Gmail logo) but also legit like a venture capital firm (http://www.camdenpartners.com/images/camden_logo_home.jpg)

Thanks all, looking good. Couple of things:
I'd like the symbol to stand alone on the left and not be part of the word
I would most likely award to the one who can come up with the most creative way for it to pixelate and come into focus, one suggestion is going from left to right throughout the logo but open to other concepts. This would indicate taking a bunch of random ideas and focusing it into a profitable business. Thanks again!
