Company Intro：

A new niche site designed to serve the homesteading/backyard gardener/livestock owner. Monetization will be from ads affiliates and personal consultations. The client wants to be considered the engine reference behind a good homestead/small farm.

Instructions：

the site masthead at homesteadingdepot.com is the color that has been chosen as a firm background and theme color (rgba(70, 89, 54, 0.76) ) or roughly in that range. Originally we were going to knock of Home Depot's style and have been suggested against doing that. The logo should read well in that color range and where it makes sense in design to keep to two, maybe three colors at most. Site font is Lato but logo does not have to be that font. But a strong letter font might be a good way to go. I want to avoid things like wheat and apples and farm equipment. Would entertain various livestock as part of the logo. While chickens are very iconic for this type of content... everyone has some kind of chicken or duck logo (unless of course, it's a really bad azz chicken). Our goal is to be the engine behind homesteading through content and tested merchandise. We plan on having the content stand on its own as a value point for the brand. Homesteading often has kind of a rustic/old time type contentation. I would prefer the logo be something strong and contemporary but certainly some of the older design elements could be used. The desire is not to be just another site trying to get people to read another how to raise chickens in your back yard kind of thing. Thanks!
