- MOvIT-PLUS is an internet-based platform that monitors older adults and their caregivers who use assistive technology and offers them training tools. The users of the internet-based platform will be older adults, their caregivers, clinicians and decision makers in the healthcare system. The objective of MOvIT-PLUS is to detect problems about the use of assistive technology such as mobility aids, communication aids or other home care technologies. This will be achieved by using questionnaires (web, smart phone, interactive voice response system) and internet of things to collect information about their pattern of use of the assistive technology. Support is offered to the older adult and their caregiver by transmitting resources that address the detected problems(s) (eg, videos, information pamphlets). Clinician support is provided as needed asynchronous online or synchronous through videoconference. The questionnaire results and resources will be accessible to our team members, the older adult, their caregiver, and medical professionals working with the older adult.
