We're JEEP enthusiasts. We're surrounded by a culture of other people who love their Jeeps too. We want to share our enthusiasm about the open air ride of our Jeeps with other Jeep lovers and really, with the world, in general. We're not sure how exactly we're going to fully do this yet, but we figured that we'd start with decals, t-shirts, coffee mugs, key chains, and tire covers.

For Jeep people, Jeeps are a sort of brotherhood. We even have a special wave that we share with one another that we affectionately call the "Jeep wave". We really enjoy riding around in our Jeeps and are very proud of them, but yet we mostly just enjoy them quietly. We realize that many people around us deep down would love to join us in owning a Jeep. They might even like to ask us what it's like having a Jeep, and if we're asked, we're all too happy to share...

We've discovered that there's nothing like riding in an open Jeep...but even better then riding with the top down, which any convertible can do....there's nothing comparable to the feeling of riding around with no doors.

So when we came up with our slogan, we figured that other JEEP enthusiasts would want to share the message with the world....that truly LIFE'S BETTER WITHOUT DOORS.

Yet if we place the words for this slogan in a vertical column (see attached) for a decal, something seems to be lacking.

We were wondering how to bring our slogan to life....we figured some artwork might do wonders for adding life to our slogan for a decal, a tire cover, or even a t shirt or hat.

Later, we may get into manufacturing products that are needed when you ride around with no doors. We are really not sure where to go with the artwork. At first, we kind of thought of a "Life is Good" type artwork, but then we realized that most Jeepers probably are a little too macho for that sort of artwork.

So then, we began thinking that maybe a minimalist art style might communicate better and be more broadly embraced by the Jeep community. (see what we call the Rusty Jeep image attached)

Jeeps communicate so many things ..... freedom, ruggedness, enjoying nature, connectedness to others, lack of pretension of status, and an element of risk.

FREEDOM
Freedom from being boxed in...you can always go around or over to get through a situation that might stop another vehicle (e.g. downed tree).
Freedom from being closed in ....out in the open air...vehicle wise, considerably more open than a simple convertible.

RUGGEDNESS - macho, power, ability to endure, ability to continue despite being beaten up from off roading, ability to handle adverse weather situations (snow, rain, flooding, mud, no roads, dirt roads)

ENJOYMENT
Enjoy nature - the seashore, the night sky, the weather, the lake or river bank

CONNECTION
more connected to things and people around you, more available/less hindrance to relate to others when the doors are off

RISK
people sometimes think that I'm crazy to ride around without any doors. Aren't you worried about getting in an accident? Other times they see the fun in it. Either way, we are at least opening up ourselves to the elements including getting wet from a sudden rain shower.

There is a saying "Jeep Hair, Don't Care". As a Jeeper, when you're riding in an open Jeep, you're saying, "Here I am, open for everyone to see, not hiding behind some curtain. The wind is going to mess up my hair, and probably my clothes. I might get wet. I am utilitarian. I am rough, I'm primitive, but I am unstoppable. If you are stuck, not only am I able to pull you out of situations that others cannot, but I am eager to do so. And when I'm finished pulling you out of that situation, I expect nothing in return. Instead, as I'm leaving, I'll leave you with by a smile and a wave out of that missing door.

We don't really see any that we like. Most didn't follow our input, a few did. A few of them were close but not close enough that we would want to pay $200 for revisions to see if they would work. We'd like to relist and invite the contestants to re-submit and then give them some feedback for change. We didn't have enough time to give them feedback before the contest ended since most were submitted today.
