Invent!

N.B. A very similar contest has been posted under the name 'click' although we probably prefer 'invent' so are posting a separate contest here for this new product name. Of course we'll be awarding the contest prizes to both separately even though we'll only use one of them.

We're developing a new product called invent (maybe with an exclamation mark after it - we haven't decided). It's sort of a 'Lego for geeks'. The modules click together and it's designed to be simple to use for beginners but sophisticated enough for more advanced users to create some really interesting projects and inventions (hence the name!). We've put more information about it here: www.lightboxdesigns.com. If it helps to know, most of the modules are small and square (but with rounded corners) and have four 'pegs' (one in each corner) - which provide the mechanism for them to click into the base boards which are colourful (made of fluorescent edge-glow acrylic). N.B. We don't necessarily expect this shape to be incorporated in the logo unless it really inspires you!

    Instructions
Really open to ideas, but at a minimum the logo should be clean, simple and creative. If it's in multiple colours it should be adaptable to be printed in monochrome as well as we'd need it to be printed on our circuit boards in black on a white background using a screen-printing process that isn't super high-resolution.

Our initial starter kit will be aimed at 7-14 year olds but we don't want to limit our market to young children so whilst having a fun style is OK, it shouldn't look childish.

Only other suggestion is that because the product is all about being inventive, then it might be fun if the logo communicated this as well! We'd definitely like to see some inventive logos ...

Please note that the 'invent!' logo currently on our web page is not intended to indicate any preference for a design style - it's simply a place holder using a default font on the template we're using and we don't necessarily want our logo to look anything like it!
