We are excited to introduce to you the cannabis industry’s first trade association dedicated to the art and science of extraction. The Cannabis Extractor’s National Trade Association (“CENTA”), is a California nonprofit corporation that is organized to operate as a 501(c)(6) for tax purposes. CENTA is necessary and seeks to serve our industry for two main reasons:<br><br>First, our cottage industry of cannabis extraction is at a cross-roads. While demand for cannabis concentrate products is soaring and will likely eclipse traditional flower sales in a few short years, public and legislativeperception is increasingly being marred by reports of BHO extraction explosion and fire hazards that threaten an already nervous public. Unfortunately the public is not aware that the vast majority of these incidents are caused by inadequate equipment or inexperienced operators or frequently both. <br><br>Second, there is a serious lack of cohesive communication within our industry and amongst our members. CENTA will be producing a quarterly e-zine that will be distributed members that highlights news, industry experts, science, lab notes and much more content that is extraction and extraction product specific. We hope this e-zine may become a print magazine before the end of 2015 and with the feedback we have from our growing CENTA community, this is looking quite possible.<br><br>However, the overall CENTA goal is to persuade our communities and government policy makers that (i) cannabis extraction can be done safely and (ii) concentrates are critical to accomplish food & drug product safety standards such as measurable dosage, manufacture consistency and product purity. <br><br>CENTA will accomplish this goal by creating:<br><br>1. Standardized health & safety guidelines for <br> a. cannabis extraction equipment, <br> b. cannabis extraction operation, <br> c. cannabis extraction product.<br>2. Assemble and share knowledge base; <br>3. Implement educational certification programs; and<br>4. Fund public, state and federal lobbying efforts specifically concerning the concentrates industry.<br><br>CENTA has received encouragement from key Equipment Manufacturers, Extraction Professionals and Concentrate/Edible Product Manufacturers in our community as well as political leaders. CENTA does not overlap with other trade associations such as NCIA, but rather, focuses exclusively on the concentrates end of our industry, recognizing that it faces obstacles that are unique to the process and product.<br><br>We hope that you will endorse our effort and join CENTA when we launch in January 2015. We are not only seeking membership interest, we are also seeking article writers, photographers and advisory board membership as well.

We want clean and simple.<br><br>We want our logo to also look like some sort of stamp of approval, because we want to create a certification program for cannabis extraction. <br><br>The proper way to do cannabis extraction is to use something called a 'closed loop' system which means when using a gas such as butane the gas will never escape the system and is recycled to be re-used over and over again. <br><br>The improper way is to use a system that allows the butane to escape into the atmosphere. A closed loop system is attached in the images for this contest.
