Musical logo design inspiration
Make sure you hit all the right notes
As with most brands, knowing your audience is key to designing your logo. As the music industry encompasses so many different roles and genres, thinking about who you’re trying to reach is key. Up and coming bands may want something different or “out there” while for DJ’s the use of records and electronic beats can get across your particular style. A music school or recording studio will want to focus more on the instruments or equipment but there is always room for creativity in music.
Mix it up a little
There are so many varying styles associated with music that there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to typography, layout or use of color. Certain fonts and images are associated with different styles of music so, if you are a music label specializing in jazz, then you probably won't reach your target audience using a gothic-style red font with a skull and crossbones beside it. However, that doesn't mean you have to stick exclusively to black and white.
