I'm a big fan of Flat 2D design with two colors, Navy blue as the main color and light blue for accent. 
Ideally, I would like a rectangular logo with a design element on the left side of the lettering. 

I would like the design element on the left side to be something unique I could use as a favicon or inside a circular thumbnail. The design element could be something like a flying plane or I like the idea of Using a wing (bird or airplane wing) as the letter "F" so i could use it as a "monogram like" logo as well.

I'm open to the "shield like" designs as well if they're really exceptional but they're not my number one priority.

I like the idea of the words being backed by 2D mountains or terrain but I'm not sure if that would be too much. 

 As far as fonts are concerned I'm a fan of Futura. I've included some more inspiration designs with my commentary as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
