Fret Folks

We're a blog targeting beginners who want to learn about fretted instruments (notably ukulele, electric bass, guitar, etc.) We provide free content to help new players understand their instruments, or for those who aren't quite sure what instrument they want to learn first. It's also worth mentioning that we see people who play fretted instruments as a community, because someone who plays ukulele will often also learn (or be able to quickly pick-up) another instrument like the bass or guitar. The vibe of our brand, is focused yet light-hearted. For example, we might give a really in-depth analysis of the numbers / data involved with a particular instrument or topic, and then immediately crack a joke after presenting that info.

    Instructions:
I want to capture that our blog covers a variety of fretted instruments (ukulele, electric bass, and guitar are the biggest and in that order). I'm not sure how best to capture this in something as small as a logo. I could imagine featuring all 3 of those instruments, or perhaps just the fretted neck of an instrument. If we did a fretted neck with 4 strings, that would capture both ukulele and bass (which both have 4 strings) but not guitar (which has 6 strings). I also want to make the logo something that is NOT intimidating or overwhelming, so this probably means simplicity is helpful. The reason for this, is because a lot of our readers are just starting to learn their instruments and we don't want to scare them away!

I forgot to mention, that I'll ultimately need a logo with the following images to upload into the website: 480 pixels in width and 120-480 pixels in height. Obviously it can be scaled up for a higher quality image, but that's what the end technical requirement is.

I have a slight preference for circular logos. Like the Directors Talk Film sample above.
