We are the community civics association for a small, picturesque town in South Eastern Pennsylvania. We are looking for a beautiful, easy-to-read logo in one color that we can use on the web and in print.
Instructions：
Chadds Ford township is rich in history and art. The site of a Revolutionary War battlefield is located right in town. We are also home to the art studio of N. C. Wyeth (father of Andrew Wyeth) and a museum featuring his art. The Brandywine River runs through town; in fact we take our name from John Chad, who ferried travelers across the Brandywine at the town’s ford. Even today, Chadds Ford is a quiet crossroads between larger population centers like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Wilmington.
In the past, we have used imagery of a Revolutionary War canon and soldiers in our logo (see attached) and we would like to include some kind of graphical image of one or both of these in the new logo as well. The canon and/or Revolutionary soldiers (also called Minutemen) should be drawn representations, without too much detail so they do not clutter the logo.
The logo needs to be clean enough that it’s elements and the words “Chadds Ford Township Residents Association” are easy to read at a smaller size, but we want something dynamic and interesting to look at that can be used in different contexts. It would be preferable if the logo could be reversible so it could be used dark on light background as well as light on dark background, but this is not an absolute requirement of the winning design. We are flexible on the font, color, and shape (circle, rectangle, or square) of the logo as long as they conform to the guidance above.
The final design requires approval by the Association Board.
